I recently wrote about the backlog that the VA is currently facing. VA has now started honoring its promise to hire 2,000 new workers beginning this month to deal with the increasing number of claims. VA also intends to mandate overtime work to help reduce the backlog. VA expects its backlog to balloon to 260,000 overdue claims by the end of October. Under this new plan, the VA expects to cut its backlogged claims to about 100,000 by April 2024.
News of backlogs at the VA can be discouraging, but Gardberg and Kemmerly is committed to helping injured and disabled Veterans obtain the benefits they deserve.
