VA to Hire 2,000 New Workers to Address Backlog

On Behalf of | Oct 21, 2021 | Veterans Disability Benefits |

I recently wrote about the backlog that the VA is currently facing.  VA has now started honoring its promise to hire 2,000 new workers beginning this month to deal with the increasing number of claims.  VA also intends to mandate overtime work to help reduce the backlog.  VA expects its backlog to balloon to 260,000 overdue claims by the end of October.  Under this new plan, the VA expects to cut its backlogged claims to about 100,000 by April 2024.

News of backlogs at the VA can be discouraging, but Gardberg and Kemmerly is committed to helping injured and disabled Veterans obtain the benefits they deserve.  If you need help with a disability claim, call the office at 251-343-1111 or 1-800-332-1529 for a free consultation. Gardberg and Kemmerly is proud to serve Veterans across the Gulf Coast and the country from our home office in Mobile, Alabama.
