VA Launches Veterans’ Complaint Hotline

The hotline for veterans’ complaints promised by President Trump launched yesterday, June 1st. The phone line, which is live now at 855-948-2311, is designed to collect, process, and respond to complaints of individual veterans in a responsive, timely, and accountable manner.

The initial rollout of the complaint line has been described by VA Secretary David Shulkin as a “soft launch” with “live-answer agents” receiving and processing some of the incoming calls. Secretary Shulkin has promised that by August 15th of this year the hotline will have continuous coverage from live operators 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Calls made to the complaint line will be kept confidential, but information will be shared with VA officials, and in some cases veterans will be asked to give personal information for responses to specific problems. The VA hopes that the new hotline will improve the delivery of care and benefit services to all veterans, including their families, caregivers and survivors.

Again, the number for the new VA Veteran Complaint Hotline is 855-948-2311.
