Recent Win in a Social Security Disability Claim & Why Doctors’ Opinions Are So Important

Just today I received a Fully Favorable Decision for one of my clients. She has severe neck and low back pain with radiculopathy. She also, however, had a Date Last Insured issue – December 31, 2013. Not a terribly long time ago but certainly an issue that had to be addressed at the hearing. So how were we able to overcome this issue? We were able to secure a medical opinion from her treating doctor who had been involved with her care since 2008. His opinion was invaluable. Because she had an established treatment relationship with her doctor, we were able to get his opinion, which was supported by years of treatment records from his office. This triumph is the perfect example of why a doctor’s opinion is so vital in Social Security disability cases – it can literally win your case.
