I am the Chair for the 2nd year for the Making Strides walk here in my hometown of Mobile, Alabama. The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk of South Alabama is a walk to raise funds to end the fight against breast cancer. The American Cancer Society and our committee consists of men and women in all avenues of life who have come together to make this walk successful. We have so many people who have been touched by breast cancer, both survivors and fighters, friends and family right here in our city that this walk is vital to the future of those who face this disease.
The American Cancer Society can only make the work they do happen with money raised by people who become team leaders, walkers, donors, and fundraisers. If you would like to join us this year at the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk, it will be held on October 26, 2019 at 8:00 a.m. in Bienville Square in Mobile, AL. You can start by downloading the ACS Fundraising App and create your own team or join a team or just walk on your own. You can use this app to share on social media and with friends and family.
Being a part of the walk is your pledge to cancer survivors everywhere, the brave people who have battled cancer and are no longer here, and to those who will hear the words “you have cancer” in the future, that we won’t stop until we win the fight!
