Labor Day is our national holiday that celebrates the contributions workers have made to the strength, prosperity, and well-being of our country. Our nation was built and is maintained by the hard work of women and men who are often unappreciated for the work they do to support their families and contribute to the progress of our nation. Labor Day is a great time to eat barbecue, celebrate the end of the summer and start the football season, but most of all, it is a day of rest to celebrate with our families the efforts of those who labor and work to make our country the greatest nation on Earth.
It is that time of year again along the Gulf Coast. Throughout our collection of communities, from New Orleans, Louisiana, through Pensacola, Florida, our family and friends at Gardberg & Kemmerly have begun to pay significant attention to the Atlantic Hurricane Season. We have previously posted several tips and quick links for the people in areas who could be impacted by a hurricane in the Gulf of Mexico. The link can be found at http://www.gardberglawfirm.com/2013/06/hurricane-preparation-on-the-gulf-coast.shtml
It's officially summer and that means 'tis the season for wonderful locally summer grown produce. Take advantage of Mobile's and the Gulf Coast's best locally grown tomatoes, potatoes, sweet corn, watermelons, plant, and flowers at the Market on the Square. Market on the Square takes place on Cathedral Square in downtown Mobile every Saturday from 7:30 a.m. until noon (from April 26 to July 26).
This Friday, June 13, 2014, is Mobile's downtown art walk. It's a great (and free!) way to explore downtown Mobile and its art scene. Galleries on Cathedral Square, Dauphin Street, and beyond open their doors from 6pm to 8pm for you to peruse their artwork. Head on down!
Gardberg & Kemmerly, P.C. is pleased to announce that associate attorney Robyn Cannon has passed the Florida Bar Exam and associate attorney Derek Siebert has passed the Mississippi Bar Exam.

The Federal Food and Drug Administration have approved several testosterone therapy medications for men that have been diagnosed with hypogonadism, a medical condition where the body fails to produce normal levels of testosterone. However, due to an over-aggressive marketing campaign by drug producers and manufactures, testosterone medications have been over-proscribed due in-part to the promises of an improved sex-drive and performance, increased muscle growth, and a reduction in body-fat.
Many people with disabilities are prescribed strong medications. Sometimes these medications are never used and are just sitting around your home. Having these unused medications sitting around can be a serious safety issue as these medications may be misused or abused. Flushing the medication or just throwing it away can lead to contamination of the water supply.
