Testosterone & Low-T Injuries

The Federal Food and Drug Administration have approved several testosterone therapy medications for men that have been diagnosed with hypogonadism, a medical condition where the body fails to produce normal levels of testosterone. However, due to an over-aggressive marketing campaign by drug producers and manufactures, testosterone medications have been over-proscribed due in-part to the promises of an improved sex-drive and performance, increased muscle growth, and a reduction in body-fat.

These promises have led to a significant increase in patients suffering with heart attacks, strokes or blood clots as a result of taking the testosterone medication. The Low-T side effects have brought an inquiry by the Federal Food and Drug Administration wherein the FDA is now evaluating the risks associated with the Low-T medication. A safety announcement with regard to the testosterone medication has been issued and can be found here.

In addition to the FDA announcement, several studies have been performed that shed light into the risks associated with Low-T treatments. One such study, announced in The Journal of American Medical Association, found that the use of testosterone therapy increased the risk of adverse outcomes, including mortality and ischemic stroke. An abstract of the testosterone study can be found here.

If you or a loved one took a Low T medication and suffered a heart attack, stroke or blood clots, you may have a legal claim for money damages. Call the trusted local lawyers at Gardberg & Kemmerly today.
