Why I Practice Disability Law

by | Nov 11, 2013 | Social Security Disability |

Many clients ask me why I became a Social Security Disability Lawyer. I think this is a good question as I fear much of the general public gain their understanding of who lawyers are via the news, television shows, and movies wherein lawyers have big egos and represent infamous or glamorous clients in high profile and dramatic cases. My simple answer to the question is that I have always wanted to assist and fight for deserving people who need legal help and do not have the money, resources, or knowledge to take the steps necessary to obtain the help they so desperately need.

Practicing Social Security disability law in Mobile, Alabama, has been the most satisfying professional experience in my legal career that has spanned over forty years. My clients come from all walks of life. Many of my clients, however, have limited educations and financial resources. For this group, the loss of a job due to accident or illness is devastating. Without help from people like the attorneys and staff at Gardberg & Kemmerly, P.C. these individuals may suffer devastating consequences such as losing their homes, losing their ability to function as they could prior to their injuries, and watching their families suffer as a consequence. Being a Social Security Lawyer has given me the privilege of helping those in need knowing that my work will help a client feed and shelter their family and obtain Medicare or Medicaid benefits to improve their health.

My firm has been very successful in helping the citizens of Mobile, Chickasaw, Saraland, Daphne, Citronelle, Monroeville, Evergreen, Bay Minette, and other areas in South Alabama. In addition, my firm serves citizens in Pensacola, the Florida Panhandle, and the surrounding areas. Because of my firm’s success, we have the resources to help our clients obtain the medical evidence and treatment they need to win their Social Security and Veterans disability claims. My firm’s experience and resources allow us to frequently take cases that other lawyers have lost or would simply turn down.

I am proud to be a lawyer who started a law firm that employees five attorneys and a large staff who serve the disabled citizens of the Gulf Coast. It was my choice to be a disability lawyer that provided me this opportunity to serve such deserving individuals.
