Jonathan P. Gardberg

Jonathan Prince Gardberg was born June 19, 1948, in Mobile, Alabama .  He was educated in the public schools of Mobile County and graduated from Murphy High School in 1966. He attended Emory University where was a Deans list student, a varsity wrestler, and served on the Publications Council.  He graduated from Emory University in 1970 with a degree in Economics. Jonathan attended the University of Alabama Law School where he was a member of the Bench and Bar Legal Honor Society and graduated in 1973.

Jonathan Prince Gardberg was admitted to the Alabama Bar in 1973. Later that year he was appointed Special Assistant Attorney General for the State of Alabama and successfully represented the State of Alabama in several cases before the Court of Appeals and the Alabama Supreme Court.

He has practiced law in Mobile Alabama since 1973 and was a partner in the firm of Simon, Wood and Gardberg where he practiced personal injury, disability, municipal and labor law. In 1986 he founded the law firm which is now known as Gardberg & Clausen, P.C.

Since the founding of the firm of Gardberg & Clausen, P.C. he has concentrated his law practice in the areas of Social Security Disability and Veterans disability law. The firm has successfully represented thousands of claimants for disability benefits.

Jonathan is a member of the Alabama Bar Association, Mobile County Bar Association, and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits and the Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims. He is a member of the National Organization of Social Security Claimants Representatives. He has served as past president of the Social Security Section of the Mobile County Bar Association and has lectured frequently on Social Security Disability Law to several professional groups.

He has served as an officer on the board member of many civic organizations including Mobile Jaycees, Greater Gulf States Fair, and Springhill Avenue Temple . In addition the firm supports several local charities including the Ronald McDonald House, Mobile Area Aids Support Group, the Mobile Cancer Society, Ozanam Charitable Pharmacy and the Volunteer Lawyer Program.
